Song Playing: "What Goes Around" - Justin Timberlake
One of my all-time favorite pictures, from
when I met John Mayer this past September.
CLICK HERE FOR ALMOST 100 PHOTOS OF 2006My domain wasn't properly functioning for a while, hence my lack of entries (again). At least it's been revamped in time for another brand-spanking new year. There are almost a hundred photos of 2006 and the last handful of them are from Christmas Ballin', Trina's Debut and the holidays care of Facebook photo albums.
P.S. I miss Prom, hence these pictures in my dress. I think Prom should be every year of high school at least. It's not fair that it's only a once-in-a-lifetime occasion. Seriously, wtf... haha.
To speak the truth, 2006 goes down in my books as one of the roughest years ever. Every year has its share of both happy and horrible stages. But I think it's safe to say that I went through a little more of the latter, now that the year's all said and done. Being reminded through past photos and entries, I can still relive how I felt during those times. I made some of the most stupid and spontaneous decisions that will eternally leave me dumbfounded (Yes, my mohawk and the era surrounding it was the absolute worst time of the year. No-no wait, of life actually. Well except for the photoshoot with Miss Melanie Buslon of course!)
Last year chewed away at some of my dignity and confidence and spat out insecurity and bitterness, leaving a load of crap I continue to clean up after. But last year is just that and I have chucked it over my shoulder. It'll be nice to actually look back, but only when I'm so far ahead that I can't even see it anymore. I'll still carry the good times and lessons learned from 2006 in my pocket. As cheesy as it sounds, I feel like I really have improved in some unexpected ways. My humility, patience, appreciation, trust and love has hopefully been better conditioned for the long-run. And at the end of the day (even though we all know that growning up is neverending), I look forward to what the future holds near and far along the way.
What makes life so compelling is that nobody can avoid that darkness - I know I won't - but in the moments when things fall into place, they are to be enjoyed as much for what they are as for what they won't be someday... And that's what I've been learning lately. My new mantra: 'While you were, say you did'.
John Mayer's blog. Duh!My new year's resolution: Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. What that truly means will remain a secret to me. But otherwise, its basis is to try my best in whatever I may encounter and work towards becoming a stronger person both inside and out. At least my resolution remains inclusive of all the other typical ones of dieting and all that jazz, haha. No wait, I also want to revive my karate past and keep skating. And to dance more too; I miss it and am stoked for Ricoh, February 28th. I'm excited for the how promising the good times of 2007 will be. New Year, please be kind!
