"I won't worry my life away"

Song Playing: "The Remedy" - Jason Mraz

It's been a rough few weeks, but things continue to improve gradually. My grandfather, who is my most favorite person in the world, suffered a heart attack the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. He's at home now recovering, but I was stopped in my tracks to say the least. I'm going to surprise him tomorrow morning with a visit from his favorite grandchild. Keep him in your prayers, please and thanks.

PICTURE OVERLOAD AT ANTY'S 18TH BIRTHDAY
This past weekend was what I needed. It was so good to see a handful of the people I miss the most. Good friends, good times. Thanks Anty for the invite, you hot dancing birthday queen!

I honestly live for the weekends. I love working at A&F those days because my co-workers are awesome. I miss the whole lot of them and want to hang, but I don't get to work as often now because I need days off for school and other things. I miss the people I consider my closest friends. I didn't even have that dinner thing for my birthday, the first time I haven't in years. I miss so many things. M-eh. I think I'm missing my sensibility or maybe just too many hours of sweet slumber.

I've finished the 15-paged one of my three essays due this winter term, the next being due this Wednesday. I still have six summaries and two tests too before my four exams in December. If you're a YFC reading this, forgive me for not getting things moving in Campus-Based. I feel horrible about it. Paul and I have big plans and they'll start to unfold after this year's YFC Regional Leaders Conference in the upcoming weeks. But for now, I'm too busy at school...

Eating.

Reading.

And sleeping.

Nineteen's nice, but second-year isn't.

HAPPY (BELATED) THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!

So just because I'm legal, I decided to go ahead in painting the town red and had a birthday shindig on the nightlife circuit. And here comes the gangster in me, haha! But nevertheless...

MY FIRST LEGAL NIGHT OUT WAS BOMB!
FRIDAY WAS THE LIIIVEST EVER! AND THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE.
THANKS TO THOSE WHO MADE IT, SMH @ YOU IF YOU MISSED OUT!
Our crowd was the cream, music was sweet...
IT WAS AND HOW THE NIGHTLIFE SHOULD BE!
Too bad some of my crucials indeed missed out. But I have to
say that it was sooo much more than I, and everyone, expected!
So thanks again, guys! The event couldn't have been better =)
And don't worry, I am not a crazy party girl all of a sudden.
Once in a blue moon... but I do look forward to the next one!

So I had Thanksgiving dinner with the Corpuz clan today and I think I gained five pounds. The food was good, but the gut? Not good, not good at all. But in all seriousness, I'm very thankful for everything God has blessed me with, despite the rollercoaster of a year it's been. Especially for good friends and family, the people that keep me going. And I definitely need to get going... I have an Economics mid-term this Thursday that is worth 25% and has me horrified, then a 15-page paper in my hardest 2nd-year Political Science course. Furthermore, YFC CAMPUS NEEDS TO GET MOVING - I'm so sorry and regretful that it hasn't yet, but you know how crazy it is. So as amazing as this weekend has been... It's the beginning of academic crunch time, term uno. Christmas break, hurry on over here.

Holler at the eternal scholar - still?
I've been practicing that preach since time.
So time, please don't fail me now...
I've up-ed my coffee size to large.

Only seven more months to go!

So this sucker is finally fixed and in sufficient operation. Thanks again to Raymond for getting me this bad boy (I owe you how much a month?) and the "Dot-Com Circle" of friends, haha...

My post-summer blog has been way overdue. In fact, I've had a private post with my Conference blog on my livejournal for ages yet never got around to editing it because it was so long. Oh well, the summer weeks of August were the so-good-that-you-just-had-to-be-there kind of days. Ask me about them personally and I'll talk to you hours on end.

But I can briefly blog about one thing: meeting John Mayer! His free concert at Yonge-Dundas Square was the greatest show ever, and seeing him face-to-face was dope. Knowing he knew I existed for a moment in time was worth Best Buy not allowing pictures with him. So our conversation went like this:
STACEY: Hiiiii! Umm, can you please sign the centerfold instead of the front [of his Continuum cover] for me?
*John Mayer looks up at me and we both smile*
JOHN MAYER: Yeah sure! You know, if I had to choose where to sign it, I'd choose here too.
STACEY: Ohhh maaan... thank you sooo much!
JOHN MAYER: No problem at all!

I confess that I've been slacking in school up to this point. Maybe it's the whole birthday thing, but that's no excuse. So I've going to make sure I pay for my mistakes, redeem myself and not let it slip me up overall. I'm more than determined to keep my "scholar" title and though I may be doing it, I hate slacking with a passion. So since I don't have school Tuesdays and Fridays, I'm going to give up working on Tuesdays and just go to York to spend my "extra day off" reading and studying. I'll only work weekends, so I'll only have a social life once in a blue moon. At least I have this Friday to end my slacking and celebrate - just because I'm legal! And maybe even the annual birthday dinner the following week? If Catherine is reading this, can we celebrate together?! Haha! Anyhow, I was talking to Trina the other day too and established that I'm going to fast MSN on weekdays (or at least try my best to). But because today's Yom Kippur and I have two five-day weekends off in a row, procrastinators will unite in their fasting... tomorrow.
